Torrent King - Patch Notes
Below you will find a list of patch notes that explain each update and the changes made to the game after each round. If no changes are made, then this will be noted.
Round 1 - Patch Notes (Jan 12th 2023)
Observations made;
The round ended too fast after only 56hrs.
Jackpot timer in a constant low state. (Sub 1hr at times)
New users avoid joining the game due to fear of the game ending.

Changes made;
Game will start with the jackpot timer at its max time.
Jackpot max timer has been increased from 3 days (72hrs) to 5 days (120hrs).
These changes were made to promote a longer game from the start. In round 1 it was noted that users were focusing too much on the jackpot and the time left before it would trigger. This distracted users from the core concept of the game and put too much focus on the jackpot, a mechanic in place to end the game when the round gets too big and hits the integer limit.
As a side effect new users were hesitant to join the round and play the game in case it ended too soon . . . This led to the round becoming a FOMO style game and completely overshadowed the core mechanics of Torrent King. This led to the round ending extremely early in just under 57 Hours as only a handful of users were participating, in an attempt to win the jackpot.
The team hopes that the above changes will promote a better start to the game and with a longer cap on the jackpot timer, will hopefully bring users back around to playing the game instead of just hunting the jackpot.
Other updates;
Addition of more contract events for the team to track. To help add more metrics for users about the game, such as tracking buy and sell prices.
More UI additions. Such as tracking buy and sell prices, tracking how many times the jackpot changes hands, tracking how many torrents have been burnt in hacks, etc.
Added some behind the scenes stuff for the team to better track the current round and to assess the end of round statistics for better analysis. This will help the team make more informed decisions when updating the game for future rounds.
All changes listed above will be in effect at the start of Round 2. some of the above updates mentioned will be implemented over the coming days before and during Round 2. The team will update the community via our socials when these updates take effect, so keep an eye out for those posts. Any other suggested changes or updates to the game will be pushed back to round's 3+4's update's, along with any other suggestions made after round 2 has finished. Observations made;
The round ended in just over a week (7days, 16hrs)
New users avoid joining the game due to low free peer counts
Low activity from new users. (no new players joining the game)
A lot of free jackpots earned from buying peers compared to hacking the jackpot directly with torrent burns.
